I have asked the president of VISA at TAMU (Texas A&M University) to write an introduction about the organzition as well as what they are doing to sponsor the contest. I hope that it will be posted tomorrow.

The following is some introduction for ELI at TAMU.

The English Language Institute (ELI, www.eli.tamu.edu) at Texas A&M University offers students the opportunity to develop their language skills while participating in university life on the campus of a world-famous American university.

Established in 1974, the ELI offers a wide range of activities designed to develop student's English language abilities and an exciting array of courses and laboratory resources designed to help the students speak, read, listen, and write in English.

The ELI is sponsoring the QBO English Writing Contest by academically advising the contest as well as giving us some English textbooks. Dr. Clark, the institute's director, agrees to be the contest's academic advisor.

First of all, the Quang Binh High School for the Gifted would like to extend many greetings and regards to the QBO.

The Quang Binh High School for the Gifted was established in 1996 with initially primitive conditions. After many years of operating since the establishment, the school has achieved many great successes in the national, international competition arena. Currently, it is definitely the leading school in the educational movement of the Quang Binh province.

Owing to the professional teaching and learning environment of the school, we, the students and former students of the Quang Binh High School for the Gifted, thoroughly understand the importance of English in our life Today. Therefore, all of us are profoundly thinking about how to enhance the English learning environment for all students in Quang Binh province. Along with our hopes and objectives, the Quang Binh High School for the Gifted Fund (QBCF) has been founded and operated with the enthusiastic participation of formers students and members of the school's website (www.chuyen-qb.com/forum). With our awards, all candidates will have the opportunities to achieve the 10 encouraging awards (VND150 thousand for each). Particularly, one of the students of the Quang Binh High School for the Gifted who gained the highest mark in this contest will be honorably received USD50 and a certificate of the Quang Binh High School for the Gifted. We hope the awards will considerably contribute to the success of this English contest.

I talked to the Director of ELI this morning. She will be glad to help us as the academic adviser of the contest and even sponsor some English text books (probably with softwares going together). There is only one thing, she is gonna contact with the adviser of VISA before letting us post her name as the academic adviser.
