Talking about Quang Binh, people often think about a sunny and windy land. In major people’s mind, it is a poor land which was destroyed during the fierce wars, but not many people know that Quang Binh Today is very different from it a lot of years ago. It can also say that Quang Binh now changes everybody’s look from an arid land to a beautiful land with the potential of economic as well as traveling.

Vietnam has industrialized for recent years. As a result, Quang Binh also tries to develop the industry. Nowadays, there are more and more hotels, shops, restaurants, supermarkets, companies… here. There are also many big national or international projects that are invested in Quang Binh such as the Song Gianh cement, the Truong Thinh cement, the Dong Hoi airport… Especially, people have excavated a big petrol mine that borders with Con Co-Vinh Linh. It will draw many investors coming to Quang Binh and its economic will be more prosperous. Moreover, the living standard of inhabitants has been improved a lot. After having a hard-working day, they can have many kinds of entertainment to relax, for example, some people like listening to music to free their minds, the others choose to go shopping with close friends, families… A lot of young couples should love going to the movie theater to have their own space. In addition, high quality resorts was also built in Quang Binh. It makes this landscape attract national visitors as well as foreigner.

Like any other the Vietnamese, people here are friendly, hospitable and very diligent. Although they are not rich, they are ready to invite you to have a meal with them. And this is one of the reasons that makes you feel unforgettable when visiting Quang Binh. They are also proud that their hometown, Quang Binh, is the native place of many famous people such as Vo Nguyen Giap General – a pupil of Ho Chi Minh president, the eldest brother of Vietnam army, Nguyen Huu Canh – the founding father of Sai Gon,…. They are always the pride of Quang Binh people as well as Vietnamese people.

Beside the traditional customs and festivals of Vietnam , Quang Binh also has some local features such as the regatta festival on the independent day (2-9) in Le Thuy, or the March love festival in Minh Hoa which stretches one week with the variety of colorful games and so on. Hundreds of tourists go there on those days to watch the exciting events and have many happy memories. In the other hand, the special food here always makes people not want to go home. Have you ever had a chance to eat “banh loc”or “banh beo”? If the answer is “no”, you should try having them. I’m sure that you will never have to regret.

If Hanoi capital has sword lake, Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam, Ba Dinh square…, Ho Chi Minh City has Nha Rong harbor, Thong Nhat palace…, Quang Binh has Tam Toa church, Bau Tro lake, Dao Duy Tu rampart and other historical places. These sights are the witness of war. Visiting them, you will know how awful this land was ruined and understand the marvelous development of it. The beauty of Quang Binh is not only that. Lying on the Nhat Le beach and having the seafood is an extremely good idea for your holiday. The Nhat Le is the gentle river which flow across Dong Hoi city. It is also the river that supplies aquaculture to the local inhabitants. In the late afternoon, fishing boats gradually come back after having an offshore day. It is a peaceful and beautiful sight. Let’s make yourself mix with sunshine and sea here, you will see how great it is.

If you are the person who loves both forest and water, maybe Phong Nha cave will suitable for you. Phong Nha Ke Bang, the World Natural Heritage Site, has the miraculous beauty of limestone caves and the imposing beauty of proteozoic forest or the Son river. It is keeping many records in the world: the longest wet cave, the highest and largest entrance, the most beautiful and largest sand, the most beautiful underground lake, the most magnificent and miraculous stalactite, the longest underground river in Vietnam and the most beautiful and largest dry cave in the world. It consists of two main caves: dry cave and wet cave. The various unique shapes of stalactite and the light system here will certainly make you impress. Moreover, there are also a lot of rented ships for you to go across the Son river to gaze at appreciatively with the sights along the banks. Come to Phong Nha, you can still see many rare and endangered fauna and flora such as cynocephalus, rhesus monkey, parashorea… Why don’t you come to visit this wonderful place and have some photos of it as presents for your relatives?

Bang mineral spring in Kim Thuy commune, Le Thuy district is the place where people can not only have a relax but also strengthen their health. Water here boils naturally at 1050C. It is so hot that tourist can boil eggs here. There are steam-bath, muddy bath and many different kinds of entertainment. In addition, having a bath in this water will help you treat diseases consisting of skin diseases, cardio-vascular diseases and so on.

One of the most attractive things in Quang Binh is traditional handycraft villages. None in Quang Binh doesn’t know the fish-breeding in Bao Ninh village, the woodwork in Quang Cu, the conical hat village in Tuy Hau, … They are very famous villages and familiar to most people. Thanks to them, traditional jobs can be preserved and developed. Visitors come here to see with their own eyes how ingenious productions are made by artisans’ skilful hands and know how their lives are.

All above things make the attraction of Quang Binh. Be a child of it, I am very proud of my hometown. Although I must leave it in the future, I will always talk about it with all best things. If you go to Vietnam, you should visit Quang Binh. I’m sure that you will have a very interesting and unforgettable holiday here.
